Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to believe in hypnosis or Reiki for it to work?

No. Neither hypnosis, nor Reiki, require belief in any spiritual or metaphysical concepts. Hypnosis is a natural mental state backed by decades of clinical research, and Reiki has shown physiological benefits in studies related to relaxation and nervous system regulation. Most people benefit simply by being open to the experience. 

What does hypnosis feel like? Will I lose control?

Not at all. Hypnosis is a deeply relaxed state—similar to daydreaming or the moment before you fall asleep. You remain aware of your surroundings and in control the entire time. It’s not mind control; rather, it helps bypass the overly analytical mind so the subconscious can receive helpful, positive suggestions.

What does Reiki feel like?

Experiences vary, but many people describe sensations such as warmth, tingling, or a feeling of calm and heaviness as the body relaxes. Some feel energy shifts, while others simply enjoy the peaceful stillness. Whether or not you feel anything specific, the effects can still be therapeutic.

What kinds of issues can hypnosis, Reiki, or Hypno-Reiki help with?

Hypnosis, Reiki, and Hypno-Reiki may support:

  • General stress or anxiety
  • Emotional regulation
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Burnout or overwhelm
  • Feeling “stuck” in certain habits or patterns
  • Support during periods of transition or personal growth
  • Quitting habits or addictions
  • Eliminating fears and phobias

  • Physical symptoms, conditions, & illness

It is not a replacement for medical or psychological treatment, but it can be a highly complementary support tool.

What if I’m new to both hypnosis and Reiki?

That’s perfectly okay—most clients are! Your practitioner will guide you through each step in a safe, comfortable, and beginner-friendly way. No prior experience or preparation is needed.

How many sessions will I need?

Some people feel immediate results after just one session. Others benefit from several sessions spaced over time. The number of sessions depends on your goals, stress levels, and personal preferences. You and your practitioner can decide what feels best for you.

What should I wear or bring to a session?

Wear comfortable clothing. You’ll remain fully clothed during the session while lying or reclining in a relaxed position. You don’t need to bring anything, though you may want to bring water, and some people choose to bring a journal to write down insights afterward. 

Are Hypnosis and Reiki safe?

Yes. Both hypnosis and Reiki are safe, non-invasive modalities. There are no known harmful side effects. If you have a complex mental health condition, it’s always recommended to consult with your healthcare provider before beginning any new therapeutic approach.
